TATTOO AFTERCARE • Wait for one hour after tattoo. • Wash hands and remove bandage. • Wash tattoo with semi warm water. Rinse off completely. Pat dry with paper towel. • Wait and watch tattoo 15 or 20 minutes to make sure all bleeding/oozing has stoped. If not, wash again and wait. • Once dry, you can then apply ointment. Never trap moisture. • Apply very very light amount of A&D rubbing it thoroughly. Wipe off excess. Remember light amount! 3 to 4 times a day for the 1st 2 days. • on the 3rd day STOP with the A&D and now switch over to hand lotion (No perfumes or dyes) • Use the lotion on your tattoo at least until it heals. • An alternate that a lot of people are using and I have seen excellent results and much quicker healing is the H2Ocean. We sell it at the shop for 10.00. It has its own instructions and there is a lot of info online about it. A lot of great artists use it. SOME THINGS TO NOTE • Always wash hands before washing tattoo. • Always wash tattoo each time you apply ointment as not to trap dust or anything between layers of ointment. • Always dry completely not to trap moisure under ointment. (ointment also refers to the lotion). • Untill tattoo is completely healed, avoid direct sunlight beaming down on your tattoo, avoid ocean, pools, tanning beds. No soaking tattoo. Shower not baths. You dont want to have your tattoo wet for anything longer than a quick shower. • Never itch, scratch, or pick at your tattoo. • It is Very important to remember that there are germs everywhere. Expect that if you touch a dirty door knob, shopping cart, money, or about anything and then touch your tattoo, you could end up with a nasty infection. • Keep it clean and moisturized! (but dont overmoisterize. especially with the A&D) Too much A&D will smother it. |
